So, DANCEiSM this Saturday (Feb 27th) and I’ve been hearing this and that about what will be there.
Yes body paint is always fun, but the thing i’m most excited to see is what they call the Jungle Path and the designs for the new stage.
I spoke to Corey, the architect behind DANCEiSM’s production and he gave me a few gems of information on what production to expect.
“We’re doing a full modification of a new warehouse,” Corey explains, “You enter the side of the warehouse, where they’ll be 16 neon tubes chasing down the room with geometric shapes flying or on the floor. Walk in, you’ll see black lights with uv tape, and on the wall they’ll be giant letters that extend to the ground.” Which Eron “has designed to really mess with your depth perception.”
Sounds good.. err AMAZING!
AND… It wouldn’t be a DANCEiSM without insane staging design and the 2-Year is set to be E.P.I.C.
Corey explains, “we’re going to use a staging metal matrix to create an expansive stage that extends out to surround the audience with metal pipes, tubes and LEDs. We’ll also have big movers on the ends with lazers shooting out from behind the DJs. It’ll be an A.I. type vibe. And yes, there will be an appearance of the Projection Stage.
